Brief

The Job Training Partnership Act Amendments of 1986 was enacted to make certain amendments to the Job Training Partnership Act. The law designates service delivery areas based on labor market areas and amends Section 123 of the Act to provide for literacy training, dropout prevention, and a State-wide school-to-work transition program. It also establishes Presidential awards for outstanding private sector involvement in job training programs and amends Section 202(a) of the Act to require at least 90 percent allocation of funds to service delivery areas within any state.
