Brief

The IMPACTT Human Trafficking Act improves services for trafficking victims by establishing two programs within Homeland Security Investigations. The Investigators Maintain Purposeful Awareness to Combat Traf-ficking Trauma Program (IMPACTT Program) provides outreach and training to employees who have been exposed to trauma in working with victims of human trafficking, including self-awareness training and mechanisms for self-care and resilience. The Victim Assistance Program is established to provide oversight, guidance, training, travel, equipment, and coordination to Homeland Security Investigations victim assistance personnel. The Act also requires the annual reporting of training provided through the IMPACTT Program and the number of human trafficking victims assisted by the Victim Assistance Program.
