Brief
The Australian Trade Commission (Transitional Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Act 1985 is a federal law enacted by the Australian Parliament. The Act was introduced to address various transitional provisions, consequential amendments, and savings resulting from the enactment of the Australian Trade Commission Act 1985.
Part I: Preliminary - Short title for the Act. - Commencement provisions, with some sections commencing on the day the Act receives Royal Assent and others on a later date.

Part II: Repeal, Savings, and Transitional Provisions Concerning Insurance Corporation and Projects - The repeal of certain Acts. - Saving of applications made to and declarations concerning the business of the Insurance Corporation. - National interest insurance contracts entered into by the Insurance Corporation. - National interest loans entered into by the Insurance Corporation.
This Part addresses transitional provisions for the Insurance Corporation and the Projects Corporation, including the transfer of assets, assumption of liabilities, and final reports under both corporations.
Part III: Staff - The Minister may make declarations regarding employment of certain persons.
Terms and conditions applicable to persons deemed employed by the Commission are determined based on their employment status before being deemed employed by the Commission.
Part IV: Assets and Liabilities - Transfer of assets and assumption of liabilities by the Commission. - Instruments, including contracts, guarantees, and agreements. - Certificates with respect to assets, liabilities, and instruments.
Exemptions from taxation are provided in this Part.
Part V: Amendments of Export Expansion Grants Act 1978 - Principal Act amended. - Interpretation and claims for grants specified. - Repeal of section 15 and substitution of new section. - Recovery of overpayments and reports required. - Further amendments to the Act. - Final report by the Grants Board.

Part VIII: Amendments of Other Acts - Amendments to other Acts made.
Part IX: Miscellaneous - Application of Commonwealth Employees (Redeployment and Retirement) Act 1979 to certain persons. - Deductions from salary allowed. - Appropriation for the financial year ending on 30 June 1986 specified.
Schedules 1, 2, and 4 list repealed Acts, transitional provisions, and amendments to other Acts respectively. Schedule 3 provides further amendments to certain Acts relating to references to Grants Board.
