Brief

The Export Trading Company Act of 1982 aims to encourage exports by facilitating the formation and operation of export trading companies, associations, and services generally. The Act finds that United States exports create a significant number of manufacturing jobs and contribute to the nation's economy. It declares that increasing United States exports can be achieved through efficient provision of export trade services and establishing an office within the Department of Commerce to promote the formation of export trade associations and companies. The Act also provides for bank export services, guarantees for export accounts receivable and inventory, and exporters' certificates of review.
