Центральным вопросом совместной сессии стал доклад стран БРИКС по совершенствованию международной валютно-финансовой системы.  В докладе предлагаются практические решения в платежной, расчетно-клиринговой и страховой сферах. Представители стран также обменялись мнениями по проекту совместного коммюнике министров финансов и председателей центральных банков, которое планируется принять в октябре.
