The Hindu Disposition of Property Act, 1916


This act was enacted to remove certain existing disabilities in respect of the power of disposition of property by Hindus for the benefit of persons not in existence at the date of such disposition.


Key Provisions:
- The act removes limitations on dispositions made for the benefit of people who did not exist at the time of the disposition.
- It extends the provisions of the Transfer of Property Act, 1882 and the Indian Succession Act, 1925.
- The act applies to all Hindus, unless specified otherwise by the state government.
