Brief

The Pediatric Research Equity Act of 2003 (Public Law 108–155) was enacted on December 3, 2003. This Act amended the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to authorize the FDA to require certain research into drugs used in pediatric patients. The law requires drug manufacturers to submit assessments for pediatric studies when applying for approval of new active ingredients or new indications for their products.
