Brief
The Net Zero Economy Authority (Transitional Provisions) Act 2024 is an Act to deal with transitional matters arising from the enactment of the Net Zero Economy Authority Act 2024. The Act makes various provisions to ensure a smooth transition, including:
1. Commencement: The Act commences at the same time as the Net Zero Economy Authority Act 2024.
2. Application and transitional provisions: The Act applies to various provisions, including Energy industry jobs plans, appointment of the first CEO, meeting of the Board, transfer of documents to the Authority, enterprise agreements, and references in Enterprise Agreements.
3. Transitional rules: The Minister may make rules by legislative instrument to prescribe matters necessary for carrying out or giving effect to the Act, including transitional provisions.
Key Provisions:
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Enterprise Agreement continues to apply to APS employees in the Authority on and from the commencement day.
The CEO of the Net Zero Economy Authority is to be treated as the Agency Head of APS employees in the Authority.
References in the Enterprise Agreement are to be read as references to the CEO and the Net Zero Economy Authority instead of the Secretary and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
