Brief

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Ocean and Coastal Programs Authorization Act of 1989 was enacted to authorize appropriations for various ocean and coastal programs of the NOAA. The law authorizes funding for activities such as mapping, charting, and geodesy, observations and assessments, ocean and coastal management, ocean and Great Lakes research, oyster disease research, program support, marine services, aircraft services, and international fishery agreement with Japan.
