'The Public Law 106-578, also known as the Internet False Identification Prevention Act of 2000, was enacted on December 28, 2000. This act aims to strengthen the enforcement of Federal statutes relating to false identification. It establishes a coordinating committee to investigate and prosecute the creation and distribution of false identification documents. The law also amends Section 1028 of title 18, United States Code, to include the transfer of documents by electronic means as an offense. The act takes effect 90 days after its enactment.'
