The Insider Reports (Banks and Bank Holding Companies) Regulations were made by Her Excellency the Governor General in Council on November 28, 2006. The regulations are pursuant to section 268 of the Bank Act and are intended to implement the requirements for insider reports under various provincial securities legislation.
The regulations define an insider as someone who is subject to an exemption under any legislation set out in column 2 of the schedule or an order of the relevant provincial securities regulator, and are not required to submit insider reports.
These Regulations come into force on the day they are registered.
