Housing Australia Future Fund Act 2023

This is a compilation of the Housing Australia Future Fund Act 2023, which establishes the Housing Australia Future Fund and provides for various grants and payments to support housing needs in Australia. The Act consists of several parts, including preliminary provisions, establishment of the fund, credits to the fund, and other related matters.

The primary object of the Act is to provide a funding mechanism to address acute housing needs, including those of Indigenous persons, women, children, and veterans, as well as to increase the availability of social housing and affordable housing. The Housing Australia Future Fund consists of two parts: the Housing Australia Future Fund Special Account and the investments of the Housing Australia Future Fund.

• The establishment of a grant program to support acute housing needs
• The creation of the Housing Australia Future Fund Payments Special Account to make grants in relation to acute housing needs
• The transfer of amounts from the Housing Australia Future Fund Special Account to other accounts, such as the Federation Reform Fund and the Housing Australia Special Account
• The ability to debit the Housing Australia Future Fund Special Account against costs and other obligations incurred by the Future Fund Board

The Act also includes provisions related to reporting, delegation, and miscellaneous matters. It applies to every external Territory and extends to acts, omissions, matters, and things outside Australia.
