The Height of Wires of Telegraph and Telephone Lines Regulations

These Regulations may be cited as the Height of Wires of Telegraph and Telephone Lines Regulations.

Unless otherwise directed or permitted by the Railway Transport Committee of the Canadian Transport Commission, companies authorized to construct, operate, and maintain telegraph or telephone lines must affix and maintain their wires in accordance with specific guidelines.

Companies are required to adhere to the provisions relating to communication lines as outlined in Canadian Standards Association Standard C22.3 No. 1-1970 pertaining to Overhead Systems And Underground Systems being part of Canadian Electrical Code, Part III. This regulation aims to ensure that telegraph and telephone wires are installed safely and in a manner that minimizes potential hazards for vehicles and pedestrians.
