Brief

The Health Services Amendments Act of 1986 was enacted on April 24, 1986, to revise and extend programs of assistance for primary health care. The Act amended the Public Health Service Act to provide more funding for grants and technical assistance for community health centers, migrant health centers, and medically underserved populations. It also authorized appropriations of $400 million for fiscal years 1987 and 1988 for grants under this section.
