Guidance for Manufacturers Specials licence holders on ‘packing down’ medicines during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak

The MHRA allows Manufacturers Specials (MS) licence holders to pack down large packs of licenced medicinal products into smaller quantities for distribution to community pharmacies during the COVID-19 outbreak. This activity must be notified to the MHRA, and labels should meet routine requirements with the MS number included. The packaging details should also be provided in the notification. This guidance only applies during the pandemic, enabling supply continuity at the local level.
