The Export Allocations Regulations, made pursuant to section 12 of the Export and Import Permits Act, outline the requirements for export allocations with respect to specific products.
An application for an export allocation must include certain information, such as the name and contact details of the exporter and any agent or mandatary applying on behalf of the exporter. The application must also provide a description of the product, including its item number in the Export Control List, and indicate whether the exporter and any agents or mandataries are residents of Canada.
When deciding to issue an export allocation, the Minister shall take into account whether the exporter has furnished all required information, complied with the provisions of the Act and regulations, and provided accurate information. The holder of an export allocation is also required to provide the Minister with detailed reports on any circumstances that may affect compliance with these Regulations.
These Regulations come into force on a specific date, which may be delayed if they are registered after that date. They are intended to implement certain provisions of the Canada–European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement Implementation Act.
