Brief

The Environmental Programs Assistance Act of 1984 was established to provide grants administered by the Environmental Protection Agency for State and local programs of pollution abatement and control. The law authorized the Administrator of the EPA to make grants or enter into cooperative agreements with private nonprofit organizations, such as those designated under title V of the Older Americans Act of 1965. Funding for these grants may be made available from various programs or through specific titles of other Acts.
