Brief

The Cooperative Credit Associations Act Regulations come into effect on November 28, 2006, under the authority of the Governor General in Council, following a recommendation from the Minister of Finance. The regulations aim to distribute cooperative credit associations among various jurisdictions.

The regulations define what constitutes a "distributing association," which includes any association that is a reporting issuer under provincial legislation, or one that has filed a prospectus or registration statement under foreign legislation, and whose securities are listed on a stock exchange in Canada or abroad.
