DHS Social Media Improvement Act of 2015

The DHS Social Media Improvement Act of 2015 establishes a social media working group within the Department of Homeland Security. The Group aims to enhance the dissemination of information through social media technologies, provide guidance on their use in emergency preparedness and response, and improve coordination with stakeholders. The Group consists of subject matter experts from Federal, State, local, tribal, territorial, and nongovernmental organizations. It meets twice annually, submits reports to Congress, and has a 5-year duration unless renewed by the chairperson.
