Brief
The Corporations (National Guarantee Fund Levies) Act 2001 is an Australian law that imposes levies on certain securities exchanges. The Act commences at the same time as the Corporations Act 2001 and applies Part 1.2 (Interpretation) of the Corporations Act 2001 for its purposes.
The Act includes the imposition of levies by section 889J and section 889K of the Corporations Act 2001, which relate to the National Guarantee Fund. The amount of levy is determined by a determination made under subsection 889J(1) or subsection 889K(1) of the Corporations Act 2001.
The Act also includes transitional matters relating to the implementation of the Corporations Act 2001 and the Financial Services Reform Act 2001. A determination that had effect immediately before the commencement of item 1 of Schedule 1 to the Financial Services Reform Act 2001 continues to have effect as if it were a new determination under subsections 5(1), (2) or (3) of the Act.
The compilation includes amendments up to the Treasury Laws Amendment (2023 Law Improvement Package No. 1) Act 2023. The amendment history shows that provisions s 3, s 4, and s 6 have been amended by No 108, 2001, while provision s 5 has been repealed by No 76, 2023. Provisions s 7 has been added by No 108, 2001.
