Brief

The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act makes the Children's Jewellery Regulations. The regulations define children's jewellery and require it to have a lead content of no more than 90 mg/kg when tested using good laboratory practices. Cadmium content is also limited, with no more than 130 mg/kg allowed if the item can be totally enclosed in a small parts cylinder when a force of not more than 4.45 N is applied. The old regulations are repealed and the new ones come into force six months after publication.
