Australian Broadcasting Corporation (Transitional Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Act 1983

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (Transitional Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Act 1983 is a legislation that was enacted to make certain transitional provisions and consequential amendments in consequence of the enactment of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Act 1983. The Act was passed on June 1, 1983, with sections 1 and 2 coming into operation immediately and the remaining provisions commencing on July 1, 1983.

The legislation has five parts: Preliminary, Transitional Provisions, Amendments of the Copyright Act 1968, Application and Saving Provisions, and Miscellaneous. The Preliminary part contains two sections, one defining short title and another specifying commencement. The Transitional Provisions Part extends to all external Territories and includes provisions related to interpretation, extension, application, members of Commission ceasing to hold office, references to Commission in instruments, property, powers, liabilities, and judicial notice.
