Brief

The Anti-Kickback Enforcement Act of 1986 strengthens the prohibition of kickbacks relating to subcontracts under Federal Government contracts. The law defines prohibited conduct, including providing or accepting kickbacks, and establishes penalties for violations, such as imprisonment or fines. It also authorizes administrative offsets against prime contractors and subcontractors who engage in prohibited conduct. Additionally, it requires contracting agencies to include provisions in prime contracts aimed at preventing and detecting violations of the Act's prohibitions.
