Brief

'The Public Law 112–88, also known as the FDIC Inspector General Study Act, was enacted on January 3, 2012. The law instructs the Inspector General of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to conduct a comprehensive study on the impact of insured depository institution failures. The study is to address various matters, including loss-sharing agreements, losses, appraisals, capital, workouts, consent orders, FDIC policy, and private equity companies. The report must be submitted to Congress within one year of enactment.'
