Brief

The Act amends the Hazardous Products Act and the Canada Labour Code to enact the Hazardous Materials Information Review Act. Part I focuses on amendments to the Hazardous Products Act, while Part II addresses changes to the Canada Labour Code. Part III introduces the new Hazardous Materials Information Review Act, outlining provisions for exemptions from its application. This Act also contains related amendments, transitional measures, and a provision for Parliament's review of the exemptions provided by Section 12 of the Hazardous Products Act two years after its enactment. The entire act comes into force on October 31, 1988, or on such earlier day as may be fixed by proclamation.
