The Airline Guide Catalogue Remission Order is a regulation made under the Financial Administration Act. It was introduced on October 26, 1983, by His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance and the Treasury Board. The order grants remission of customs duties and part of the sales tax on official airline guide catalogues imported by Professional Courier Limited, Mississauga, Ontario. Specifically, remission is granted for customs duties paid or payable under the Customs Tariff in respect of catalogues imported after June 1, 1983, as well as a portion of the sales tax paid or payable under the Excise Tax Act. The remission is conditional upon a claim being made to the Minister of National Revenue within two years from the date of importation. This order has since been amended by SI/88-17 on January 6, 1988.
