THE APPROPRIATION (No. 2) BILL, 2024

The Appropriation (No. 2) Bill, 2024 is a legislation introduced in the Lok Sabha to authorize payment and appropriation of certain sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India for the services of the financial year 2024-25. The bill aims to provide for the appropriation of moneys required to meet the expenditure charged on the Consolidated Fund of India and the grants made by the Lok Sabha for the expenditure of the Central Government during the said year. The proposed bill provides for a total sum of Rs. 398,837.82 crores to be utilized for various services and purposes specified in the schedule attached to the bill. These services include revenue and capital expenditures for different ministries and departments such as agriculture, defence, health, education, and others. The bill also includes provisions related to transfer payments, interest on certain loans, and repayment of debts. It is recommended by the President under Article 117 of the Constitution to be introduced in the Lok Sabha and considered by it.
