Brief

The Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2563 amends implementing regulation (EU) 2022/1646 to include additional content in national risk-based control plans and national randomised surveillance plans, as well as amendments to the submission of data by Member States. This regulation aims to enhance transparency and cooperation between Member States and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

The impact on the industry is expected to improve the accuracy and completeness of food safety data, allowing for better decision-making and risk management in the sector. Compliance considerations include ensuring that Member States submit accurate and complete data by 30 June each year, as well as implementing controls on certain combinations of substances and commodity groups.

This regulation applies from 1 January 2025 and is binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
