"On 24/03/2025, the Australian Government's Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) scheme celebrates its 20th year of operation, achieving significant environmental and economic benefits. Since its inception in 2005, the WELS scheme has saved an estimated 1,800 gigalitres of water, resulting in $16 billion in reduced utility bill costs and 29 megatonnes of carbon dioxide emissions avoided."
