UNODC Global Report on Trafficking in Persons for the Andean Region and the Southern Cone

On February 21, UNODC released results and impact in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The report detailed transregional flows detected, with Argentina ranking 15th globally as a transit and destination country for human trafficking, mainly operated by organized crime groups. The data revealed that 64% of global trafficking is directed at women and girls, while identified modalities of exploitation are primarily linked to organized criminal structures and, in smaller proportions, labor exploitation.
