On April 30, 2025 – Longueuil, Quebec, Environment and Climate Change Canada enforcement officers issued an update. Two Quebec-based companies, Habitations Pilon Inc. and Les excavations Jacques Germain & fils Inc., pleaded guilty to violating the Species at Risk Act. They were fined a total of $35,000 for driving heavy machinery in a protected area, damaging vegetation, and violating emergency order provisions.
