On Thursday, May 22, 2025, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) issued an update regarding Genjudah Oil and Gas Production. Minister Bahlil emphasized that the target of lifting one million barrels of oil and gas per day by 2030 can no longer be achieved through conventional methods. The ministry plans to implement three main strategic pillars: optimizing production with advanced technology, reactivating idle oil wells, and intense exploration in untapped reservoirs. To expedite exploration, Bahlil announced the plan to tender 60 new oil and gas work areas by 2028.
