The SIU investigation revealed that both officials were involved in alleged corrupt activities, with Ms Magagula holding a private investment in a company that had contracts with Eskom and Ms Mahweliri failing to declare her membership in a company that had a contract with Eskom. The SIU made both criminal and disciplinary referrals, which resulted in suspensions for both officials. The cases were postponed and will be appearing before the Middelburg Specialised Commercial Crime Court.
