The first trial of the bribery case of Li Pengxin, former deputy secretary of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Party Committee, opened

"On January 9th, the Shaanxi Provincial Higher People's Court held a public first trial for Li Pengxin's bribery case. The prosecution alleged that from 1999 to 2023, Li Pengxin illegally received a total of over 822 million yuan in bribes while holding various positions, including deputy secretary of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Party Committee. Li Pengxin and his defense team participated in the trial, with the court adjourning to issue a verdict."
