On 29/08/2025, the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) issued an update regarding The first brinter case of Chikungunya’s fever was detected this year in the Russian Federation. A man who had traveled to Sri Lanka for a 10-day vacation had been hospitalized with symptoms of Chikungunya virus, confirmed by PCR tests. The patient was admitted to a hospital in Moscow and is currently in stable condition, with Rospotrebnadzor taking measures to prevent further transmission.
