"On 21/05/2025, the Federal Public Ministry (Ministério Público Federal – MPF) issued an update regarding Supreme valid evidence obtained by police officers found at the crime scene even without judicial authorization. The Plenário do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) declared the validity of proofs gathered by police after analyzing a cellphone found at the crime scene in a Rio de Janeiro furto episode, overruling TJ/RJ's understanding that the access to data without prior judicial authorization would be an invasion."
