On 06/01/2025, the National Institute of Standards and Technology issued an update regarding "Study Highlights Need for Standardized Measurement Methods in Gene Therapy". The study found that one measurement technique, PCR-ELISA, was problematic and required further development and standardization. Researchers evaluated four methods used to measure adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors and found that SEC-MALS was the most accurate and precise method tested.
