On February 13, 2025, the Superintendência-Geral do Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica (SG/Cade) initiated an administrative proceeding against União Brasileira de Editoras de Música (Ubem) for collective bargaining and price-setting in the musical synchronization market. The SG/Cade also imposed a preventive measure to prevent Ubem from negotiating prices and conditions on behalf of its associated music editors, pending further investigation into potential anticompetitive practices.
