"On December 20, 2023, the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) issued an update regarding SAHPRA recalls Lubri-A, sterile lubricating gel. The recall is due to multiple suspected contaminated batches of the product, which have been linked to fungal infections caused by exposure to Wickerhamomyces anomalus. All batches are being recalled as a precautionary measure to prevent serious and widespread nosocomial infections."
