Restoring the health of our urban waterways

On 16/12/2024, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water issued an update regarding "Restoring the health of our urban waterways". Nearly half of Australia's threatened animals and a quarter of threatened plants are found in urban areas, sharing space with 96% of the country's population. Restoring habitats in these areas helps conserve native species like birds, platypus, and fish, improving waterway condition and public health and wellbeing benefits.
