On March 14, 2025, Natural Resources Wales (NRW) issued an update regarding the restoration of saltmarsh habitat along the Severn Estuary. The project, delivered as part of the Welsh Government-funded Nature Networks programme, involved the renewal and extension of over 2km of sedimentation polders to encourage the establishment of saltmarsh habitat, reducing flood risk and supporting local wildlife.
