The Reserve Bank of India has released the Report of the Committee on MIBOR Benchmark, which reviews the Rupee interest rate benchmarks in the country. The committee was formed to examine the usage of Mumbai Interbank Outright Rate (MIBOR) and assess the need for transitioning to new benchmarks.
As part of its recommendations, stakeholders are invited to provide comments on the report by November 15, 2024, through email. These comments will be evaluated before a final decision is made on the committee's suggestions.
The Reserve Bank of India encourages public participation in this process, ensuring that the views and opinions of all relevant parties are considered in shaping the future of Rupee interest rate benchmarks in the country.
