Brief
On May 7, 2025, the UK Civil Aviation Authority issued a space launch licence to Scottish company Skyrora. This is the first time a UK-based rocket company has received such a licence, allowing for up to 16 launches a year from SaxaVord Spaceport. The licence comes with conditions that must be met before launch, including adequate insurance and airspace agreements with other countries.
