On 09/04, the Brazilian Federal Police issued an update regarding PF investigates corruption network between indigenous leaders and public servants in Pará. Eleven public servants were suspended from their duties due to Operation Caronte, which uncovered a corruption network formed by indigenous leaders and public officials in Tomé-Açu, PA. The investigation is a follow-up to Operation Guaicuru, launched in January 2024, which resulted in the arrest of two indigenous leaders for various crimes, including violence against their own community.
