On January 17, 2025, the Employment and Social Development Canada issued an update regarding Penalties doubled compared to last year for non-compliant employers using the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Between April 1 and September 30, 2024, 649 employer compliance inspections were conducted, with 11% found to be non-compliant, resulting in $2.1 million in Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMP) issued, a fivefold increase in bans from the program compared to last year, affecting 20 employers.
