Brief

On May 12, 2009, the Green Channel for patent applications was introduced to accelerate environmentally-friendly inventions. This service allows applicants to request accelerated processing if their invention has an environmental benefit, with no fee required for using this service. The Green Channel is also available for applications filed prior to 2009, and can be requested at any stage of the application process.
