On February 11th, the Federal Revenue Service, in joint operation with PF, Gaeco-MPF, and CGU, launched Operation Errata to investigate a suspected scheme of public resource diversion for book purchases. This involved possible crimes of peculation, active and passive corruption, and money laundering. The investigations identified indications that agents and public servants acted between 2017 and 2023 to direct acquisitions of educational materials. Mandates are being served in Rio de Janeiro, Ceará, and Pernambuco states.
