On 15 July 2025, IP Australia issued an update regarding New security protections coming to Online Services. The update includes the introduction of multi-factor authentication (MFA) starting in September 2025 and increased protection for credit card transactions from 8 August 2025, aiming to safeguard intellectual property rights data and enhance overall security. A pilot group will begin using MFA in July 2025 to ensure a smooth transition.
