On April 20, 2023, a regular freight train route was launched from Chongqing Municipality to Central Asia. The inaugural train carried polyester chips and is expected to reach Tashkent, Uzbekistan in about 12 days, covering approximately 4,700 kilometers. This new route aims to reduce transportation time between Chongqing and Central Asia by 30 percent, improving trade efficiency in the region.
