On 17/12/2024, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) issued an update regarding NetSIP directed to comply with scam rules. The ACMA found that NetSIP breached obligations related to monitoring, information-sharing, and reporting of scams, resulting in a failure to share nearly 47,000 scam calls with other telcos and approximately 500,000 scam calls with the ACMA.
